
Adele Mara April 28, 1923 until May 7, 2010.) was an American singer, actress and dancer who was in films during the 1950s and 1940s as well as on television during the 1950s and 1960s. Adele St. Mara was her professional name. She got an endorsement from Columbia Pictures[citation required.She also gained expertise in the studio's comedy shorts , as well as "B" films. The name was later changed to Adele Mara. Mara began her career as a receptionist for the Three Stooges movie I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks were the sisters of Rita Hayworth in the Fred Astaire movie You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks plays the lead female part in Alias Boston Blackie (1942) in which she plays the sister of a wrongly accused and released convict. She was transferred to Republic Pictures after her Columbia contract was removed. In Republic Pictures, she was a part of Westerns and outdoor adventure. [citation needed] She had a supporting role in Don Siegel's Count the Hours and The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch.
